Homeworld: Bikini Bottom, Pacific Ocean

SpongeBob is the oldest of the original four Nicktoons team members, but oddly enough, he acts like the youngest. Despite this, he's pulled his light weight around on numerous occasions. Back in his homeworld, he's the best fry cook in town, a master jellyfisher, a bubble blowing artist, and even knows karate. With all this in mind, it's no wonder he's the most popular of the Nicktoons.

SpongeBob is naturally pretty well balanced, being the most famous fighter in the roster, but he's a real light weight, lacking in high attack power and able to get knocked around easily. Because of this, his attacks focus on keeping opponents at bay and messing up their flow.

Character Attacks:
B = Water Soak: SpongeBob doesn't soak up water so much as he soaks his opponents in it. Press B once to build up water, then press it again to squirt it out. The longer the charge, the further and stronger the squirt. It doesn't do a lot of damage, but it knocks opponents back quite a bit.
Side B = Spatula Flip: Using his trusty spatula, SpongeBob can deflect any projectile attacks right back at whoever fired them. He can also flip opponents into facing the opposite direction, also causing a bit of damage.
Up B = Bubble Blow: Hold down the B button to blow a bubble so big, it lifts you into the air! As you float, you can move a bit to the left and right using the analog stick. Alternately, you can just tap the B button to blow a small bubble in front of SpongeBob, which will catch most projectiles and render them harmless.
Down B = Bubble Art: SpongeBob takes out his bubble wand to blow a bubble into different shapes, which he can then toss as a weapon. The shapes appear in a set order, so hold down the B button until you see the one you want to use. The damage this move causes depends on the shape you stop on.

SplatDowns:
Standard = Super Absorbency: SpongeBob soaks up water and swells to ridiculous size. He then shoots out a huge and powerful stream in the direction he‘s facing, pushing opponents off-screen.
Super = Invincibubble: SpongeBob transforms into his super alter ego and lets loose a barrage of bubbles in all directions, trapping all opponents in them. All he has to do afterwards is run up to each one and hit them with any attack. The power of the bubbles’ pops that follow will send foes flying!
Ultimate = Goofy Goober ROCK!: SpongeBob turns into a rock-and-roll wizard with a magic peanut-shaped guitar! His righteous chops send out electric streams of energy that seek out all the opponents and KO them on impact!

Taunts:
Up D = SpongeBob plays his nose like a flute.
Side D = SpongeBob laughs uncontrollably, even to the point of bouncing a little.
Down D = SpongeBob briefly morphs into a "#1."
