I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Don Mattrick just announced that Microsoft is back peddling with the XBOne, removing the disastrously awful features we've been bashing them for trying to inflict on us.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

BIG EDIT: I HAVE NOW LEARNED HOW TO PLAY THE GAME PROPERLY! THE GAME IS NOW A BLAST FOR ME!!

Turns out I've been needing to swing at better times and not always worry of where I'm aiming towards in the field. This game has quite a learning curve to someone used to Mario Super Sluggers gameplay.

I killed in my first winning game and unlocked a lot of achievements and cards! The cards alone are worth a good laugh! Apparently, ZIM barely got into the league due to his non-sportsmanship and had to promise not to tie the opposing teams' shoelaces together anymore. XD

However, I feel kind of guilty about my first win ever... It was against my local team, the Tampa Bay Rays. It was like 14-0, too! XD

BTW, in case you're wondering, the voice cast is half-real and half-stand-in. Some have their real actors and some don't. Would you believe Dudley in this game is voiced by Sokka?

Another Stand-In Voice is Powdered Toast Man. Then again, Gary Owens was probably too old to reprise the role. Either that, or he's dead. But I LOVE the reference that Corey Burton makes to Waffle Women.

Funny thing is, Corey Burton ALSO did the role of Disney's Mad Hatter on shows like "House of Mouse" after his REAL voice actor, Ed Wynn, retired.

And I gotta admit, he's just like Jim Cummings (who incidently voices Ultra Lord in the game). You can hardly tell or HEAR any difference in voice. Wish I could say the same to Ren (No Offense, Chris Edgarly...)

And yes, I love the game! Let's hope that some DLC is being thought of!

And Ren may not sound like himself, but I love that when he strikes out, he says, "Do you know who you're dealing with?!" That being a reference to the "Ren snaps" meme. Oddly enough, I'm making a 4-Panel Comic about that related to the game, which is also based on a comment you made on a Facebook photo that I read! (a screenshot with Ren)

I saw this on Facebook when Nicktoons MLB has been released in the United States.

But I saw thsi on Wikipedia because the Nicktoosn MLB will be releasing in September 28th 2011 (UK).
