Since I'm in a good mood, I'm letting this jam go on for a whole extra month!
My intentions for the jam remain the same: I want us to celebrate the creator-driven shows that made a lasting impression of television animation for the last 25 years... The Nicktoons!
The rules are simple:
- The theme is crossovers. Have your entry feature characters from two or more shows interacting with one another in some way. How they interact is up to you. Have them play! Have them fight! Have them do whatever you want!
- Each piece of art must include the 25 Years logo shown below. You can shrink it down and put it in a corner or whatever you like. It doesn't have to be noticeable as long as it's there.
- The art must be new and made for this jam.
- Nothing too mature like blood, gore, strong language, sex, or nudity. Keep things under PG-13.
- NO BASHING OF ANY NICKTOON! This is a positive celebration!
- Try your best to make the art look good. I want quality entries. That said, the number of entries per user is unlimited.
- When you have an entry, leave a comment on this journal with a link to it. It can be a regular link or a thumbnail.
Quitting DA
This site's run by dummies and I don't even post here anymore. I'm leaving. I'll be on Twitter (for however long that lasts), Tumblr, and occasionally YouTube. Bye.
Future Plans for SplatDown
Welp, this is what I get for waiting nearly a decade to finish the damn thing. Yes, I've heard about Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Yes, I'm excited. And sadly, yes, this MIGHT throw a wrench in my own version of such a game. I honestly have no one to blame but myself for putting off regular updates for so long. In hindsight, I probably should've hired some help for the art and details and such... but enough self-pity. What does NASB ultimately mean for Nickelodeon SplatDown, which is basically my imaginary version of the same kind of game? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. I need to see more of what Ludosity is doing with their take on it before I commit to any major changes to my own ideas. It's very likely that after its launch in October, I'll begin restructuring SplatDown as a hypothetical sequel to NASB and basically add what I would've personally done. Luckily, from the looks of things, Lumosity had some of the same ideas I secretly did, along with some much better ones. Anything I
SplatDown delayed indefinitely. Yes, again. Sorry.
Animation isn't fun for me anymore. Too many people are mad about everything. It's too overwhelming for me. So why make a fan project that won't even become real about a studio everyone seems to hate now? Why torture myself any further? I'm sorry for letting you all down again, but I can't keep making art of stuff if I don't enjoy it anymore. Every time I think I'm back in the groove, the universe kicks me down again and spits in my face, reminding me that I'm an nobody that will never have a professional job or get along with others. I'm done. At least, for now. I don't know when I'll be back.
SplatDown Update: Revamped version on the way
After lots of reevaluating and organizing, SplatDown is almost ready for a comeback. More characters, more art, more frequent updates. Aspects such as stages and items will also be revealed. Old art will even be revised to fit the new content.
This will be the brawl to end them all. (for real this time)
