Description

SplatDown is back! I'm revising the few things I've uploaded about it already before getting to the new stuff, starting with the logo and basic game info!

STORY OVERVIEW
After years of visiting each other’s worlds (…in video games, anyway…), the Nicktoons decide to throw a fighting tournament on Volcano Island, located at the center of the multiverse, to see who the best hero is. With the help of the island natives, they make the tournament more interesting when they get their hands on mysterious ancient artifacts known as the Coins of Splatyantec. These strange, glowing, and floating treasures help the combatants get a boost of power. With enough of these, they can unleash incredible bursts of energy that they call “SplatDowns,” which the fighters use as attacks in the tournament and also vary in size and shape to fit their personalities.

Unfortunately, numerous villains from numerous worlds hear about this ancient power that’s been discovered and, as expected, crash the tournament to claim it for themselves. The countless Splatyantec Coins are soon scattered throughout the multiverse and the chase is soon on to recover them before they fall into the wrong hands… Or at the very least, use them to beat up the bad guys that those wrong hands are attached to!

HOW TO FIGHT
Let's look at it this way: The Nicktoons are one of the biggest groups of animated stars on television, so they feel right at home when they’re on screen. The idea behind these fights is to knock all the opposing Nicktoons off screen so that you’re the last one being seen by the viewers. This isn't at all what they're fighting for, nor do they know about being TV characters. This is just a thematic concept for us to understand why they fight like this. In certain matches, you can also knock them out by simply just attacking them and decreasing their health bar. You can alter the match rules to use whatever method of scoring KOs you want.

Each of the fighters have different attacks, but none are more different than their four Character Attacks. Pressing the special attack button and tilting the control stick up, down, side-to-side, or not at all will result in unleashing one of these attacks. Tilting the stick and pressing the standard attack button will result in various yet more basic attacks. Not enough for ya? Well, each Character Attack comes with two unlockable customizations, which can be slight variations on the attack or, in rare cases, completely different. When they're all unlocked, you'll have a whopping number of 12 Character Attacks to choose from! (though you can only use 4 at a time)

To use a SplatDown, you first have to collect enough Splatyantec Coins to power it up. You can collect these by beating them out of your opponents or picking them up when they spawn on their own. Each character’s SplatDown is different and you can even collect coins to alter its level of power. There are three different levels: SplatDown, Super SplatDown, and Ultimate SplatDown. Save up as many coins as you can if you're going for an Ultimate, because after using a SplatDown, your energy level for it gets completely emptied.

For future reference, the default controller button scheme is as follows (using the Wii U GamePad and Pro Controller):
LS (left control stick) = move
RS (right control stick) = Splat attack
A = standard attack
B = Character Attack/activate SplatDown (when charged)
X and Y = jump
RB and LB (right and left buttons) = block
RT and LT (right and left triggers) = grab
D (directional pad) = taunt
Select/Minus = switch or catch up (Co-Op Mode only)
Start/Plus = pause

More to come!
