Nicktoons SplatDown Character List

EDIT (6/08/2016): Two slight changes to the roster. One character has been completely replaced with another and one has been reduced to a "palette swap" of a very similar character. Consider that second part a new clue.

Yep, SplatDown has a whopping 40 character roster! We're not flat-out revealing every single one just yet, so have this mostly blocked list that'll get less blocked with each reveal. The reveals will be mostly in the order shown, but there might be more random ones here and there.

To help your guesses, here are some hints:
-Despite its popularity, SpongeBob doesn't have the most reps in this game, but it does share its number of characters with an equally popular juggernaut of a franchise.
-It goes without saying that there will be Avatar characters. In fact, there's a character for each of the four elements! And perhaps more!
-There are some 90's characters included, although one of them comes in an unexpected form and is pretty much this game's "joke character."
-Quite a few villain characters are only Story Mode bosses, but there are plenty of playable ones, as well.
-There's a good number female fighters, including one that was added at the last minute due to sudden popularity at the time this was made.
-Three slots in the roster are filled with... less than popular characters. Before you say anything, yes, I did in fact add them out of spite. Also, so the people who hate them will have the chance to beat them up.
-Guest characters from other animation studios are in this, all of which have had a connection with Nickelodeon at some point.
